Stumbled across this!

Hi Everyone,

I stumbled across instructions for this "gift" block found at http://www.sewwequilt.com/2011/11/our-guest-blocker-to-day-is-nan-with.html

It is super cute! The size on the website makes an approximate 8" square block but I'm sure some clever quilters could adapt it for our group :)

EDITED:  Thanks Tammy, I have put these details in the Quilty Resources Tab,  Admin

Log Cabin for Cynthia

Cynthia from Germany asked a one-time request for a log cabin block with a red center and creme and green. It is on its way to a cooler part of the world right now!

Today I Did My Happy Dance .....

I was doing my happy dance today.  When I opened my mail box I had 2 packages inside.
Both of them were Christmas blocks too.
This one is from Lori in the USA.
I haven't had this pattern before and have always wanted to try to do it, so now Lori has inspired me to try. I love it!
She also included some awesome goodies.
Thanks Lori.

Diane in the UK did this one for me.
The green jumps right out at you with the design.
She sent a special little block she did and some extra goodies.
Thank you Diane I Love the block and goodies.

EDITED:  Photos have been put in the right spot now

Westward bound...

I had so much fun making this "broken-wheel block"
for my swap partner Gerri in Washington.
She said "I love the greens" so green it is and trees with a splash of Christmas red.
Hope it will fit in nicely with your collection!
I was happy to make it and enjoyed learning this new block :)

New Year Blessings~

Moonlight serenade

Cathy and I have been swapping since QBSA started (she was the second member to join way back in 2010) and we have not swapped with each other in a long time.  So it was a pleasure to be her partner again this month in the Christmas swap for January.

Cathy is saving any Christmas block in traditional colours and loves fabrics with gold on them.  This one is pretty sparkly even though the photos don't show it.  Its called Moonlight serenade and the pattern is block 7 of the Fat quarter shops mystery BOM.

I had fun playing with the fabrics for this and based it on a pretty poinsettia fabric.

A Star for Jean

Just finished Jean's request for a 'Star'. It is on the way to her as I write this....

Thanks for being my partner Jean.

JANUARY BLOCK..

.. gone in the post today to Traci in North Carolina xx

Hope she likes it xx

Christmas in January for Diane in UK

Diane in Cheshire England said "anything in Christmas colors".  Well, I came up with the Cross & Chains pattern in the traditional Christmas colors. I had a blast doing this. I hope she likes it.

December Block To Cynthia

My December partner was Cynthia from Germany and she asked for any block in any colour, so I made this Shoo Fly block.

2013 - a New Year - A New Pledge - UPDATED

This post has been UPDATED
Happy New Year to you all!

We will start 2013 with:
29 - Active swappers
2 - on leave

Our membership currently stands at:
17        Australia
7          USA
3          Canada
2          New Zealand
1          UK
1          Germany

Since 2010, 30 have left the group - the most recent citing failure to swap and lack of communication as their main reason for leaving - this is most disappointing :(

What is more disheartening for me .............. over the last year or so:
2 have been removed (failure to communicate with Swap Co-Ordinator)
7 have been suspended (failure to swap and/or communicate with partner)

Members are not removed or suspended on a whim, but failure to communicate and/or swap is simply NOT ACCEPTABLE.  If you feel that it is OK not to communicate with your partner or the Swap Co-Ordinator, or it is OK to have one-sided swaps, then maybe this group is not the group for you.

Below is a button for your blog and I ask that you take the swappers code of conduct to heart and always with good intentions.  Thank you to Cheryll from Gone Stitchin for sharing this with us

Both Sue from Quilt Block Swap Australia and myself are taking one sided swappers seriously as its no fun for anyone when you make and send a block to someone and they do not reciprocate.  If this happens to you please let us know early.

I, **insert name here**, pledge to do my very best to have integrity and honesty in my swap commitments. To be on time, every time, to participate in discussions and to communicate with my swap partner and the Swap Co-Ordinator if I am going to be late or unable to complete my swap obligations.

Remember swappers have a month to make and send your block, so if you have not received your block by the end of the first week of the following month this is the time to let us know, unless of course your partner has emailed you to let you know that they are going to be a little late.
