Ta-Da

Well finally....
What a challenge for me and it's a reminder for me to 'not'
try a 'new' block when I am behind....
I had quite a struggle making this block, it seemed like those
2-7/8 inch squares are so hard... however my husband
was able to help me with reading these measurements!
(how embarrassing is that, I can do this-just no metter what they were not okay?)
(so thankful for that)
I had made her one block and then decided that I did not like it so,
I made her a different one.
So with all this being said there is a block in route to your house,
Rev Traci
       Here is the block..........

TA-DA!
Yes, it is finished and for that I am very thankful!
There are a couple lil-extras for the long wait :)
Thankfully we both live in the USA & it will be there before the end of December!
Thanks for swapping & hope it will fit in the rest of your collection.
Blessings~

A beautiful 'Christmas' block...

When my block arrived on Christmas eve.
I was thrilled!
The picture that was posted really does not
do it justice.....
it just is so lovely.
And not only did she me a gorgeous block....
she also sent along some sweet lil' extras!
Thank you so much....
Rev.Traci Holgen
for a lovely swap.
Blessings~

P.S.
I let Rev.Holgen know that I am making her a new one as I am not
happy with the first block that I made for her.
I am struggling with this pattern...any suggestions anyone?

Look what CathyT made!

Here is a lovely table topper made by CathyT

Thanks to Lori (USA), Erin (Qld), Cathy D (NSW), Sue B (SA), Jen (USA), Fiona & Bobbie for your blocks during 2012.  I've added some of my own and made this beautiful table topper for Christmas.
Thanks again! Cathy

Thanks for being part of our swap group CathyT, even if it was only for a short time.  CathyT will be taking leave from the Christmas Swap group for a while.

Final Block Swap for Michele-Marie

I received not 1 but 3 X'mas trees from my December swap partner, Michele-Marie. Thank you so much for the gorgeous blocks and I especially love the Xmas tree trimming. As Michele loves 'basket blocks', I decided to make her one, although my basket does look more like a 'pot'!! We definitely will miss you Michele and wish you all the best in all your future undertakings. Thanks for being a great partner.

2012 in review

2012 has been a great year for the Christmas Quilting Block Swap Australia Group.

The two highlights of the year for me have been the Christmas in July Mug Rug Swap and the Birthday Celebration Giveaways.

Since our formation in October 2010, we have had 69 swappers join our group, with 23 joining just this year.

Currently, we have:
32 - Active swappers
5 - on long term leave (possible return in 2013)

Just an interesting observation, our membership currently stands at:
20        Australia
9          USA
4          Canada
2          New Zealand
1          UK
1          Germany

25 have left the group of their own choice

Sadly, over the last year or so:
2 have been removed (failure to communicate)
5 have been suspended (failure to communicate and/or swap)

Members are not removed or suspended on a whim, but failure to communicate and/or swap is simply NOT ACCEPTABLE.  If you feel that it is OK not to communicate with your partner or it is OK to have one-sided swaps, then maybe this group is not the group for you.

I would love to see our fellow swappers take the following pledge.

I, **insert name here**, pledge to do my very best to have integrity and honesty in my swap commitments. To be on time, every time, to participate in discussions and to communicate with my swap partner if I am going to be late or unable to complete my swap obligations.

Some time before 1st January 2013, an email will be going out to those members currently on long term leave seeking an expected return date.

So from me here in Australia, I wish you all
a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.

November Block for Jessisca

This is the block I sent Jessisca in November. She asked for any block with a Christmas theme. I quite like a bit of quirkiness amongst the traditional - I hope Jessisca does too!
