Grumpy Post - One Sided Swaps - *Not Happy Jan!

Hi everyone

Most of you are wonderful swappers (as the lovely pictures and posts prove!) but there have been an unfortunate run of people not fulfilling their swap obligations in recent months.

I have had the most unpleasant task of suspending a member this week ;-(
This is not something I take lightly, but failure to communicate AND failure to swap is simply not acceptable!

I have given this member several opportunities to reply, even provided a different email address in case they were having difficulties with the group's hotmail account, and still no communications have been received by either myself or her swap partner.

EDITED:   I have since found out that this member has let down several partners, as far back as December 2011 - This is so sad and put bluntly ............ NOT ACCEPTABLE!  If I had known earlier, then at least the most recent partners for March & April would not have been let down ;-)

Given some recent incidences of  'One Sided Swaps', the Swap Rules have now been updated.

We only have two rules:
1. Communicate with your partner - no communication .......... no block!
2. Have lots of fun ;-)

If you have not received any communication from your partner by the 15th of the Month, please DO NOT SEND YOUR BLOCK, instead, send them another email and ask them POLITELY if they are OK and find out if there is a problem.

*For those non-Aussies unfamiliar with the words 'Not Happy Jan!' - this was part of a very successful advertising campaign for our Australian Yellow Pages - see Wikipedia entry HERE

Fat Quarter Give away

I (SueB) am having a birthday this month, but I am giving you the presents compliments of Quilting block swaps Australia new sponsor, fabric direct.

The lovely Eve has sent me two mouth watering fat quarter packs. I am so tempted to keep them for myself (grin) but I wont be greedy. I guess I will just have to enter to win.

I am holding this give away to Members and Past members only of Quilting block swaps Australia, Christmas Block swaps Australia or 6 inch block swaps Australia. As a thank you to the members for all of your support and dedication to the Quilting block swaps Australia groups over the past two years.

Here is a peek of what is on offer :

Civil war set
Summer House set
To enter simply visit the main post on Quilting block swaps Australia and leave a comment on which set you would like to receive.  Its as easy as that.  Entries close at 5pm on 23rd May which just happens to be my birthday.
