2012 in review

2012 has been a great year for the Christmas Quilting Block Swap Australia Group.

The two highlights of the year for me have been the Christmas in July Mug Rug Swap and the Birthday Celebration Giveaways.

Since our formation in October 2010, we have had 69 swappers join our group, with 23 joining just this year.

Currently, we have:
32 - Active swappers
5 - on long term leave (possible return in 2013)

Just an interesting observation, our membership currently stands at:
20        Australia
9          USA
4          Canada
2          New Zealand
1          UK
1          Germany

25 have left the group of their own choice

Sadly, over the last year or so:
2 have been removed (failure to communicate)
5 have been suspended (failure to communicate and/or swap)

Members are not removed or suspended on a whim, but failure to communicate and/or swap is simply NOT ACCEPTABLE.  If you feel that it is OK not to communicate with your partner or it is OK to have one-sided swaps, then maybe this group is not the group for you.

I would love to see our fellow swappers take the following pledge.

I, **insert name here**, pledge to do my very best to have integrity and honesty in my swap commitments. To be on time, every time, to participate in discussions and to communicate with my swap partner if I am going to be late or unable to complete my swap obligations.

Some time before 1st January 2013, an email will be going out to those members currently on long term leave seeking an expected return date.

So from me here in Australia, I wish you all
a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.
