Log cabin off to the USA

I am off to an early November start, having made my November block for Jen in USA.  Jen requested a log cabin in traditional colours.  I love making log cabins, you get to use lots of different prints.

I hope Jen likes the fabrics I have chosen for her,  this will start its journey to you on Monday.

A little Christmas cheer

I am sharing a lovely table runner that I have made from blocks received in this group.

Contributors are ( L to R )

Friendship block - Shauna Bushfield
Star Block - Cathy Cates (see the cute felt poisettia centre too).
Poinsettia block - Cheryll Shannon

Thank you sooooo much ladies for your lovely blocks that helped make this project possible.  its lovely to see how three very different blocks come together so well.  And as the theme seemed to be poinsettia it gave me a good excuse to use some fabric with that pattern on it for the borders.

It does not show in the pictures, but the cream fabrics have lovely golden swirls and stars.

Thanks So Very Much

I am Jen and very new to this group. I had just moved from Bethlehem, PA (USA) to Allentown, PA. To get things done fast, I had put alot of my boxes of things in our garage. As I needed things I would go out and bring in a few boxes. Late one night about 11:00 pm I was getting ready for bed and looked out my front door to discover 4 feet of water rolling down the ally. Everything in the garage was floating around getting wetter by the minute. Well....needless to say with all the years I have been sewing, I have been collecting blocks of the month kits, shop hop kits, fat quarters, threads, fibers, books and yarn (yes I knit, cross stitch and embroidery). I was able to save some of the bigger pieces of fabric but not the small ones. I had a lot of wool felt I had been collecting to make my sister "Pennys from Heaven" quilt, but I could not save that nor the book. My family is safe and well. It took 2 weeks to get everything cleaned out and thrown away. On the following weekend we got hit with a hurricane. Yes we lost power for 6 days. We grilled all the food we could and the rest we had to throw away. Again, we are all good. Crafty, you don't know this, but we just had another flood. I thought I lost everything by the first flood, but now we truly don't have anything left after this second flood. Flooding never happens here. But, we are all OK. I just wanted to thank Crafty so much for the wonderful package I received in the mail. I opened it and started to cry, my husband came over and asked what's wrong. I showed it to him and all he said was "Oh". Thank you so much for the fabric and floss. What a generous gift from the heart. Everyone should be so kind.
