Maria's star and a table runner

Here is the October block for Maria - I am ahead of schedule as October is tomorrow,

Marie requested any star in traditional colours on cream.  I had this cute pudding print on red, green and cream and thought it was perfect for this project.

I have also been busy sorting through my Christmas blocks received so far and converting them into projects.

I have pieced together this table runner made from blocks received from Cathy, Shauna and Cheryll.  I have pinned it ready to quilt. I think I will bind this in green.

Its finally arrived

Today Mr Postman delivered my Mug rug from Canada.  I am sorry to say that the sender did not include a note so I cannot thank you by name.
(and I have foolishly deleted the email from Crafty with your details on it ).

Its lovely,   and there were also some special treats with this

A lovely purse- I love the contemporary fabrics in this.  Perfect for small change or cosmetics and tissues
and look what is inside the purse. More treats.  A yummy Vanilla Starbucks coffee sachet, and two organic lolly pops, one mango and one blueberry.  I will enjoy the coffee and save the lolly pops for when the grandies visit.

September block from Jen

I received this gorgeous block from Jen (no blog) for September

look at all the red & gold goodness - I love it!

Woo Hoo - The blocks are finally arriving

I have been missing my Christmas blocks all summer.  I guess they just didn't think it was the right time of year.... But I've received three in the mail in the last few days.

This beauty is my June block from Linda.  She was having a bit of trouble getting it off in the mail, so got a bit of help from her friend and mine, Maria

I love the little tree charm and the length of lace that came in the parcel.  I'm not sure which of the wonderful Aussie's picked them to send.

My August block from Sue arrived.  Isn't it gorgeous... And Sue included a couple of pieces of Christmas fabric.

My September block from Crafty arrived in record time.  I love the colours she used.
Crafty sent me a skein of purple floss (yum) and two cards.  The postcard shows Adelaide where she lives.  Big city! Sorry the picture is sideways....
Now I'm only missing my July block.....

Block from Shirley to Cathy

I received this most beautiful block this week from Shirley for August swap

look at this red and golden goodness ;-)

Perfect !!  ;-)

Shirley also included a pattern, a Christmas FQ, and a card ................ but I forgot to take a photo ;-(
see here for Shirley's photo of the extras
thank you so much Shirley, you are most generous.  I was looking at the pattern and was trying to imagine what fabrics I could use ;-)

Block for Susan of Rockingham, WA

Susan has requested an 'applique' Xmas block, and since I am not an 'applique-er', she said it was optional. BUT as usual, I took up the challenge. At the moment, I am into 'hexies' and I thought I'd do a 'hexie' Xmas tree (paper-pieced). Added some presents under the tree, and then some baubbles up and around the tree. Once I started, I kept going and going... and I had a great time doing this block. Hope I did not overdo it!!  I shall eagerly await Susan's approval on my 'hand-stitching'!!

Log Cabin Block for Shirley of Missouri

Just completed this Log Cabin Block for Shirley. I have used 'softer tones' of  greens instead of my normal splash of 'strong' colours. Being a bit more adventurous and hopefully it will be okay.
