Leona's May Block

Leona requested a "Chevron Block" in NON traditional fabrics.

When making this Block there is a lot of waste so I decided to sew the pieces  together and put a border around.

I am delighted with the result and now I have two blocks to send to Leona.

From Sue to Sue

Star block
A close up of the fabric

My beautiful block from Sue in SA arrived on Wednesday. I asked for any star block isn't a great use of the fabric. I'm sorry it has taken a couple of days to post but I do have a good excuse - minding almost 3 year old grand daughter for our daughter (and son in law) who has ended up in hospital at 35 weeks pregnant with high blood pressure and liver problems. Twitter and Facebook are great, I have just learnt that she is likely to be there for the weekend and have this baby sooner if things don't improve.
So today Lily has nana to look after her, sew I am sewing an baby quilt that needs to get finished, wish me luck it might be needed next week.

Medora's block for Mary

this email came through from medora - i thought i would include the full text because it says so nicely what people say about being in the swap - thanks medora!
p.s. - lovely block too!!!!

Hello from Manitoulin Island, Canada.  I realy enjoyed making this block for Mary Chow.  It's been a pleasure to get to know Mary and finding out where she lives.  I learned a bit more about Toronto and the population there.  It is amazing just how much we do not know about a city until we meet someone and though I am living in the same province.  Tonight I have finished her block and it took me a little bit of time to find the pattern for the block I wanted to make for her.  Once I found the pattern I was very anxious to get going on it and complete it.  It worked out very nicely and am pleased with it.  I hope she will like it.
