Christmas star from Canada

Thank you to Brigette for this pretty fussy cut Christmas star, its really lovely and will go well in my project.  It also came with a Christmas card in keeping with the Christmassy theme and a sweet piece of Canadian maple print fabric as a special keepsake.

I also think the Canadian stamps are just so cute, a little lady bird and polar bear cub as well as some flowers.  So pretty that I may have to take up stamp collecting as well.

Thank you so much Brigette I love it xx

Welcome and some info to think about....

hi all!
firstly please join me in welcoming our newest member, Sue V, from WA in Australia.  her blog is now in the members list, so please check it out!

i am working on the swaps for March as we speak, and just want to mention a couple of things.

first, you will notice in the left side bar there is a list of the members of our swap.  when someone takes an indefinite break, or asks to leave, i put their name in italics with 'on leave' next to it.  im a bit of a softie and want people to know that they are always welcome back, so i can't bring myself to delete their names!!!

anyhoo, this month we have had a few ladies need to take indefinite breaks because of changes to their life circumstances, and so i wanted to take this opportunity to wish them all the best.    also please remember that at any time you can just take a month or two off from the swap if you know that busy-ness is around the corner - just let me know!

second, i wondered if people would like to take a leaf out of the standard quilting swap group and have the option of creating smaller blocks (or bigger blocks for that matter), so that we can complete a wider variety of christmas projects?

i have put a poll up in the top right corner of the blog - have a think and have a vote, the poll closes 15th of March.  as per always, we will go with the greatest number of votes.  any questions or comments, please don't hesitate!  it is your swap!

i hope to have the swap partners finished today or tomorrow, so they will be in your inbox then!

thanks for reading and i hope that you are having a great week!

Janet's block to Leena

Leena writes
"this is Janet's Xmas Block that I have just received today all the way from Yukon, Canada. It is January's Block but I am relieved that it has finally arrived. Hate to think that such a beautiful block might get lost in the mail .Out-standing workmanship and I loved the fabrics used.
I think I got more than what I asked for, tumbling blocks with  the added seams does make it look a whole lot more interesting. I love it. Will definitely stand out in my Christmas Sampler!"

just beautiful!!!
