Sue B's Block

This is Sue's December Swap block. As I had e-mailed her a photo thought I could do this post before I get too busy and forget.

The block is called " Sophie's Choice"
I hope Sue likes it.

OH I just realised we have two Sue Bs. This block is for Sue Bar.

on a sewing roll ;-)

I was able to get some more sewing done this last few days - the cricket was on the TV, so hubby was suitably entertained and I was left to my own devices ;-)   I think I'm gonna love this summer

I completed the block for Linda, my partner for December - I am so motivated using this Christmas fabric ;-)

Linda, your block will be in the mail tomorrow.

November's Block - Leena (I think) - figured it out the belongs to Sue B

Ok my mind has totally left me and because I am not sure who this was made for as it was a month ago....

I have not posted this or anything and the I know that I asked for this to be posted as my computer crashed... I am really hopping that this has not been lost in the mail too (Quilting Block Swap Tarnyia).  Well I guess if you are the person who was suppose to get a block for this crazy Canuck this is what your block should look like when it arrives in your mail.

This is the sneak a peak for Leena - I really hope that she likes this block

Shaunas Christmas Shoo Fly

Shauna in Canada requested either a shoo fly or a churn dash in Christmas prints.  I have only ever made a shoo fly in a sampler so thought it was a good opportunity to try this pattern again.

I had some really cute snowman fabric that I teamed with a royal blue holly print.  I am pleased with the result,  I hope Shauna likes this, I will get this in the mail very soon to avoid the Christmas rush.

Changes to swap...

hello all!
thank you for taking to the time to vote in our poll - the results are in!
we will be combining into a big group of christmas joy and cheer - very exciting!

what this means is that the christmas swap will run like the regular quilting block swaps australia swap, and you will receive a new partner each month.

new people can also join at any point and start swapping straight away - so if you know anyone, please send them our way!

please let me know if you would like to sit out for a month or more (some people are sitting out December or January as they know they will be too busy), or if you would like to change your preferences.

a big thanks to Sue for running the first Christmas group so far - i know that the ladies of group 1 will enjoy getting to know all the other ladies too.  Sue has provided me with a list of swaps so far for group 1 so there won't be any double ups as we move forward!

please also do not hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions or concerns!

much love, pugs and christmas-y kisses

November Block for Mary in Canada from Cathy

I have finished my November Christmas Block swap for Mary in Canada - here is just a snippet.

Mary, your block will be in the mail on Monday.

To Australia from Canada

I made this block for Larain in Australia. She had requested a star block with traditional fabrics. I decided to try my hand at this paper pieced star partly to check out the pattern and partly to practise paper piecing. I enjoyed making this for you. Larain. Merry Christmas from Canada.

Hello everyone....I havent forgotten...

Hello all in blog land..Just to let the ladies know that I owe a block to that I am patiently awaiting the delivery of my new sewing machine that should arrive Friday of this week or early next week..Then I will get to and make the blocks I owe...I bought a Singer 7469q which is a quilting machine with lots of things for me to learn.I have had my old machine for nearly 30 years and it just isn't any good...  I am enjoying seeing all the blocks being posted...regards Robyn

Another Christmas Log Cabin to add to my collection ;-)

Yesterday, the postman delivered this lovely block from Mary in Canada for the November Christmas Block Swap.

I got an email from Mary saying she was glad it arrived safely, but for some reason my spam blocker blocked the email, and I could only see the first line of text ....... I hope it did not cut off anything important Mary wanted to say ;-(

It is lovely, I love the way Mary has fussy cut the tree in the centre - the fabric has a beautiful feel to it ;-)

I have started cutting Mary's block and hopefully, it will be on it's way to Canada very shortly.
