Cherylls November block

I managed to spend a few hours in the sewing room last night and made Cheryll her Christmas block for November.  I decided to do a fairly simple design as I wanted to show case some very pretty fabric that I had- Poinsettias and Pine cones. I hope Cheryll likes this. xx

From Cheryll with goodies

The lovely Cheryll did her November Christmas swaps early as she has family from Canada visiting.  I was her lucky swap partner for this month and today I received this lovely poinsettia block, along with a card, lovely letter, Personal handbag diary and length of ribbon - so early Christmas pressies for me :-)

Thank you so much Cheryll, your block and gifts are beautiful.  I have not started your block yet but rest assured it will be done well before the end of November.

My First Christmas Star

Today I received my first Christmas Swap Block from Robyn.  The picture does not do it justice.  There is so much pretty sparkly gold that doesn't show up.  All of the dots are gold, each star is in the green fabric is trimmed in gold and the background fabric is gold on white!  Just gorgeous.  I love my first Christmas Star! Thank you, Robyn!

POLL! Changes to Christmas swap??

Hello everyone!!
in the right side bar at the top of the blog there is a poll that we would LOVE everyone to vote on!

as you know, at the moment the Christmas swap is run so that people say they would like to join, and we wait until we have a group of 12 and then start swapping.

however, as has happened with the wonderful ladies of group 2, people are so excited to be swapping they want to get into it straight away!  who can blame them!!!

this has meant a bit of a headache administration-wise and will lead to some issues with the swaps down the line  -

so i wanted to float by everyone some possible changes to the swap!

option 1

Leave Group 1 and 2 as 12 people swaps, and New members start a continuous swap
(by continuous swap i mean what happens in our regular swap that Sue runs- new people join and start to swap with others straight away, there are no capped numbers and people can come and go as they need to, or have a month off etc)
this will mean no waiting for new members and no hassles of trying to even out the swaps amongst a smaller group.  it also means that people who joined the initial swaps continue to swap with their group

option 2
Group 1, 2 and new members combine into one group for continuous swap
this means we all join together and start swapping!  of course it means that you would end up with more than 11 blocks if you kept going, or you could stop or change preferences at any time (a handy way to make Chrissie presents though!)

option 3
All new members join 12 people swaps and wait until they are full to begin swapping
this means things stay as they are, and that people will have to wait until there are 12 people in their group to start swapping.  it could mean a long wait for people until the group is full.

please vote and let me know what you would like to see happen in the swap!  if you have anything you want to discuss further, please email me at

please note, whatever changes are the most popular are what we will go for!  we are going on the honour system so please vote once for your preferred option.

i have put the closing date for the poll as 15th of November so we can get it sorted by the December swap

thanks for your time and thought!
