Another Growth Spurt!

WOW, another growth spurt!

A very warm welcome to our newest Aussie members JanF from NSW, Bev from SA, DianeG from QLD and Natasha from WA, as well as Jocelyn from Ireland, and LindaW from USA.

With the recent growth of the group, I think it is timely to remind everyone that communication is the No.1 rule of our swap – if you are going to be late with your block, or are struggling with your partner’s preferences, please keep in touch with your partner AND the Swap Co-Ordinator!

We are one swapper away from capacity!

And because I can't bear to have a post without a piccie, here is a collage of some blocks sent and received recently :)

Double Aster - March Swap - Cathy & Wendy

I received the most wonderful block from Wendy for the March Swap

and was requested to make one in return
it was a bit daunting - my first attempt was a bit bigger than 12.5 inches - a bit like 12.75 :(

but I am not letting this block defeat me .............. another attempt is in my immediate future :)

Take up the challenge! - UPDATED

A page has been created to showcase entries received for this challenge -

UPDATED:  Entries will close 5th January 2015 to give you time to finish something by 31st December 2014 and get photos in :)

I am following Sue's lead in the QBSA swap group, and giving you all a challenge for 2014 to complete something with the blocks you have received as part of our Christmas swap group.
It doesn't have to be a huge quilt, it can be a table runner, or even just a cushion ;-)  The idea is to get something finished this year ............. and there will be a prize :)  not too sure just what exactly, but I will arrange something.
As with Sue's challenge on QBSA, you don't have to complete something immediately, just leave a comment ON THIS POST to confirm your intention to complete something THIS YEAR!
let's see if the finished Christmas items can out-number the QBSA items (nothing like a little bit of friendly rivalry to get those UFO's finished hey :) )
to give you an idea, here are some pics of things others have made
