Here are some photos of blocks sent and received during September 2015 - there are some truly magnificent blocks in this collection ....... I hope they provide some inspiration for you all :)

cheers for now, I will be back in a few days to share some blocks from the October swap.

Change of Co-Ordinator

Special Announcement from your Swap Co-Ordinator

The September swap will be the final swap I organise - from October, the Swap Co-Ordinator duties will revert back to Sue Belleli, the group's founder.

Over the weekend of 26th/27th September, I shall handover the details of the active swappers to Sue – including all contact details and swap preferences (and whether your September swap has been completed).

Going forward, it is anticipated that the Christmas swap will be run via the main QBSA page/group on Facebook.  Full details about the future of the Christmas Block Swap will be forthcoming as soon as they have been finalised.

The Christmas Block Swap Facebook page and private group will eventually close - however, there will be time for you to share photos of your completed September blocks, and chat with your fellow swappers.

The Christmas Block Swap Blog will also close eventually, but will remain active for now.
For the time being, you can still chat with other swappers and share photos in the Christmas Block Swap Facebook Private Group.

Photos of blocks sent and received for September will be sent out in a final newsletter in October – the Newsletter will most likely not continue.

I would like to say that it has been a pleasure to be involved in this swap group, both as a swapper starting way back in 2010, and as Co-Ordinator since March 2012, but it is now time for me to step back from Co-Ordinating, and to start spending more time in the sewing room, and less time on the computer.

I have made some lovely quilty & bloggy friends since 2010 - thank you for being part of my world for the last 3 1/2 years.

Another Growth Spurt!

WOW, another growth spurt!

A very warm welcome to our newest Aussie members JanF from NSW, Bev from SA, DianeG from QLD and Natasha from WA, as well as Jocelyn from Ireland, and LindaW from USA.

With the recent growth of the group, I think it is timely to remind everyone that communication is the No.1 rule of our swap – if you are going to be late with your block, or are struggling with your partner’s preferences, please keep in touch with your partner AND the Swap Co-Ordinator!

We are one swapper away from capacity!

And because I can't bear to have a post without a piccie, here is a collage of some blocks sent and received recently :)

Double Aster - March Swap - Cathy & Wendy

I received the most wonderful block from Wendy for the March Swap

and was requested to make one in return
it was a bit daunting - my first attempt was a bit bigger than 12.5 inches - a bit like 12.75 :(

but I am not letting this block defeat me .............. another attempt is in my immediate future :)
